Team news: Exeter City v Portsmouth

Tis names himself amongst the subs for the opening day

With the Grecians’ squad a bit thin through illness and injury, manager Paul Tisdale has named himself amongst the subs for the Grecians’ meeting with Portsmouth at St James Park.

Centre-half Jordan Tillson also gets a first home start after featuring away at Hartlepool on the last day of 2013/14, owing to injury to Jordan Moore-Taylor.

Scot Bennett wears the armband for the first competitive fixture for the Grecians since taking over the captaincy this summer.

Meanwhile former Exeter trio Paul Jones, Ryan Taylor and James Dunne all start for Pompey.
