Michael Bull is the man in the middle
City’s third home game in the space of eight days will see Michael Bull take to the whistle when Wycombe Wanderers visit St James Park on Tuesday night.
This is the Essex-based official’s first full season in the Football League after several seasons at non-League level. It will be his second City game, with his only previous one being six years ago as City drew 2-2 away at Crawley in March 2008.
Bull has refereed 16 games so far this season and shown 51 yellow cards and just the one red in that time. He oversaw Wycombe in their 1-1 draw with York in September and has refereed on one occasion in the Championship, taking charge of Wigan’s 2-1 win over Charlton three weeks ago. He also took charge of the Conference play-off final last season when Newport overcame fellow Welsh side Wrexham at Wembley.
