Weather update: Portsmouth (Sat 12pm)

Latest changes from St James Park

As of midday on Saturday the pitch remains clear of any surface water and any water is draining through well, and it is currently gloriously sunny (as pictured).  So it's so far, so good - with some rain forecast this afternoon, we will continue to monitor conditions closely and updating this page as often as necessary.

As ever, our groundstaff are working hard to make sure that the condition stays good by taking all available measures.  We are all in full tilt to prepare for matchday, and we are looking forward to welcoming Pompey – the giants of League 2 – to the Park this weekend.

Somerset CCC have kindly allowed us to borrow ‘the Blotter’ to help to remove water from the pitch – so we are as ready as we can be to tackle any rainfall ahead of kick-off.

Given the recent poor weather, we fully understand that supporters are keen to know the situation as it evolves because of the changeable conditions.

We would request that supporters check the website and our social media channels regularly for latest news, which we will update as often as necessary.  We are grateful for your patience in this matter.

Don’t forget, if you’re planning on coming on Saturday, you don’t have to pay on-the-day prices – instead you can get great discounts by buying online in advance before midday on matchday!  You can save up to £6 per ticket by buying online – just click here to go to our ticket portal or click here for more information on prices for this game.

So don’t be the one to miss out on these great rates – and make sure your family and friends know the advantage of buying online too.
