Exeter City v Reading
Pre-season friendly
St James Park
Tuesday 15th July 2014, 7.30pm
The World Cup is over. No more vanishing spray, Brazucas, or insight from Mark Lawrenson (for the time being). It’s back to domestic affairs as City and Reading kick off pre-season at St James Park on Tuesday.
This friendly fixture will be all about getting the running-legs back on for both sides after a summer away from the playing field.
It’ll also be a chance for the Grecian supporters to get a first glimpse of some of the new additions to the squad. Uniquely this season, however, that doesn’t mean external recruits – it will be the four Academy graduates that have come through the ranks to earn pro contracts this summer.
The Royals have a prolific Academy of their own under Eamonn Dolan’s stewardship, and in fact won the Under-21 Premier League Cup last season – and they’ll provide a stern test to City.
Tickets are available in advance from £7.50 adults, £5.50 seniors and £3 under-18s/students – click here for full ticketing details and how to buy.
Please note that the Stagecoach Family Stand will be closed for this fixture – City supporters will be based in the WTS Stand and the Thatchers Big Bank. All City fans should enter via the Stadium Way turnstiles at the corner of the WTS Stand and the Thatchers Big Bank.
Exeter City wins: 22
Reading wins: 47
Draws: 13
Referee: Andy Woolmer
Assistant referees: Adam Hopkins & Andy Bennett
Fourth official: Lewis Ibbeson
