Plenty of first-team experience in starting XI
Scot Bennett wears the captain’s armband for the Under-21 Premier League Cup quarter-final fixture against Burnley at St James Park.
23-year-old Bennett, who has 98 senior appearances to his name, also has five League 2 goals to his name this term including one last weekend against York.
Striker Tom Nichols, also on five goals since bursting back into first-team contention this season, leads the line alongside Jamie Reid, who returned to the bench on Saturday after an ongoing groin problem.
Of the starting XI, only Jordan Tillson is yet to make a senior appearance for the Grecians, though he has been on the bench six times this season. Of the starting XI, no less than nine are direct products of the Academy at the Cat & Fiddle.
