Get a piece of memorabilia and raise funds for FLT
The Football League Trust is offering fans the chance to score a piece of memorabilia from the 125th year of the Football League, thanks to Capital One. With signed shirts and balls available from over 50 Football League clubs, there won’t be a better opportunity for fans own a piece of their team’s history.Capital One – Official Credit Card of The Football League has donated over 200 pieces of signed memorabilia from the 2013/14 season to The Football League Trust’s eBay charity auction. Amongst the lots on auction are two Exeter City shirts and two Exeter City footballs from the 2013/14, signed by the squad.
Money raised from supporters’ successful bids will be converted into ‘Capital One Community Credits’ which shall fund social action projects delivered by National Citizen Service (NCS) participants. The Football League Trust runs the NCS programme, which is empowering teenagers to become credits to their community, as they make their mark in society at 40 clubs across the country. The ten day auction finishes at 8pm on Sunday 14th September.
Mike Evans, General Manager of The Football League Trust, expressed his thanks. “I would like to thank Capital One for its generosity; the funds raised from these donations will make a significant difference to the social action projects that our inspirational participants will deliver later this year.
“Since the initial pilots in 2011, NCS has grown phenomenally, this year, through our network of Football League clubs, we expect to engage around 8000 young people across the country on our NCS programmes.”
NCS is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity open to all 15 to 17 year olds across England. It is a unique two or three week full-time programme where participants spend time away from home, taking part in new activities and developing skills before committing 30 hours of their own time to a community project that benefits both young people and society. On NCS, young people will learn all about issues that affect their local community, before developing and delivering a social action project designed to leave a real legacy on their community.
