Two chances for silverware within a week for Exeter City Ladies

Come and support Ladies team for final two fixtures

Exeter City Ladies are fighting to complete a league and cup double within the space of less than a week as their season comes to a close – and your support at the final two games would be very welcome.

First up is the final fixture in the Premier League South West D1, which takes place this Sunday 12th April (kick-off 2pm) against Cheltenham Town Ladies.  The Grecians can go level on points with leaders Forest Green Rovers Ladies with a victory – although they would need a 12-goal margin to overtake the league leaders!

Exeter have in fact won 12-0 on one occasion this season – triumphing by that scoreline away at Gosport Borough – but the result was since expunged when they opted to withdraw from the division.  A win against the Robins – who they have beaten in the league and FA Women’s Cup this season – would see City claim second spot in the table; if they can claw back a dozen, it would see them promoted as champions.

The game takes place at Exeter City Ladies’ home at St Martins, Exminster – see the map below for directions.

A better opportunity to win silverware comes on Thursday 16th April (kick-off 7pm), as Exeter City Ladies face Torquay United Ladies in the final of the SWH Ltd Devon Women’s Senior Cup.  The Gulls currently lie fourth in the South West Women's Football League, a level below Exeter, and if the game isn’t settled after 90 minutes then the prospect of extra-time and penalties follows.

It is the fifth straight season that Exeter have reached the final of the competition.  After being beaten in a penalty shoot-out by Marine Academy in 2011, each of the past three finals have seen Exeter City meet Plymouth Argyle – during which Exeter have won the competition once and lost twice.

As usual, the cup final will be hosted at the Devon FA’s headquarters at Coach Road, Newton Abbot.  See the map below for directions to the venue.
