City to kick-off Football League Trophy campaign on September 1st
WE CAN confirm that Exeter City's Johnstone's Paint Trophy First Round tie at home against Portsmouth will take place on Tuesday 1st September, with a kick-off time of 7:45pm.After last night's success at Swindon Town in the Capital One Cup First Round, the Grecians will be looking for more cup success when Pompey visit St James Park in September - the first of two Tuesday evening home meetings with the Fratton Park club this season.
The last time the two sides met at SJP was on the opening day of the 2014/15 season, when Tom Nichols' goal was cancelled out by Jed Wallace's equaliser in a 1-1 draw.
The Grecians received a bye for this round last year, but would ultimately get knocked out at the Ricoh Arena in the Second Round by Coventry City.
