Darren England to take charge of this weekend's League 2 clash
EXETER CITY will encounter a new man in the middle on Saturday, with Darren England set to take charge of the match at Kingsmeadow.Barnsley-based England has made the step-up to Football League refereeing on a weekly basis this season after taking charge of just one game at this level last time out – Saturday’s opponents AFC Wimbledon’s 2-1 win over Accrington Stanley.
England has more experience running the line, as he has been a FIFA Assistant Referee and was on the national select list. He has taken the flag in Premier League matches on numerous occasions, and was the assistant referee in last season’s FA Cup Final between Arsenal and Aston Villa.
This season has seen England in charge of three matches so far, showing twenty-one yellow cards and one red – to Dagenham’s Matt McClure last weekend in their 1-1 draw at Wycombe.
