Ticket update ahead of the FA Cup Third Round
EXETER CITY would like to reassure its supporters that the club is taking every necessary measure in order to ensure that committed supporters are able to purchase a ticket for the upcoming Emirates FA Cup Third Round tie against Liverpool. The tie, which will be played on Friday 8th January 2016 with a kick-off time of 7:55pm, will be shown live on the BBC and is expected to prove extremely popular amongst supporters once tickets go on sale, with the club having been inundated with phone calls and emails from people looking to secure their places.
Exeter City chairman of the board Julian Tagg said: “We are doing everything we can to ensure that loyal Exeter City fans are the first priority when it comes to tickets for the Emirates FA Cup match against Liverpool at St James Park.
“At the same time, we must also ensure that the club takes the opportunity to maximise the benefits from the match, in turn further securing the club's future as numerous ongoing challenges may then be addressed. The list is long, but advancement of the Academy, as well as all aspects of infrastructure work but particularly improvements to the Cliff Hill Training Ground and the proposed development of St James Park, to mention just a few, are hugely important steps if we are to keep the supporters-owned club dream alive.
“Fans might note that the club will only receive forty-five per cent of the income generated by the fixture, and for a big event like this there will be a significant policing bill. When all of these things are taken into consideration, it can then be seen that it is sensible to reflect these factors into the pricing plans.
"Cognisant that our fans face a price increase for this match, the club is currently considering a variety of measures over future months and games that will provide our regular supporters with opportunities to recoup some of the extra charges necessarily made as outlined above."
We are currently finalising details for the sale of tickets, and expect to announce that shortly. The sales will be in a phase manner, with Season Ticket holders and Gold and Silver Members in the first phase. This will then be extended to Bronze Members early next week.
Keep an eye on the club’s official website for further details about the Emirates FA Cup Third Round tie with Liverpool – these will be announced as and when they are available.
