As we enter the final stretch of the 2014/15 season, the local ‘End of Season finals’ are due to take place for adult and junior leagues around Exeter and Devon.
As always, we are very keen to accommodate young and local footballers in our community here at St James Park. At present however there are still a few factors which are preventing any final arrangements from being made at this point.
While the team still retains the ambition of securing a place in the Sky Bet League 2 play-offs, we cannot yet commit to a summer schedule. Play-off semi-final dates in our division run until Thursday 14th May, two weeks after the end of the regular season.
Our Football Secretary Mike Radford will shortly be writing to the secretaries at the local leagues with a provisional schedule, should we not finish in a play-off position.
Should we achieve a play-off position, we will able to offer the Cat & Fiddle Training Ground as an alternative venue to contest the finals instead. League secretaries may wish to bear this in mind in case they wish to make alternative arrangements.
Once again this summer our Estates team, led by Clive Pring, will be using their brief opportunity during the summer months to remove and replace the surface at St James Park, as it must be ready for our first home pre-season friendlies in July and in tip-top condition for our first home game of the new campaign.
