Winger to sign for City
Attacker Lee Holmes has agreed a deal to join Exeter City this summer, following the expiration of his contract with Preston North End.The 28-year-old winger joined the Grecians on loan from the Lilywhites in mid-March, and went on to feature eight times in Exeter colours before the end of the 2014/15 season.
He found regular football again at St James Park – and he featured for 90 minutes in five consecutive games during a busy period which incorporated the Easter fixtures.
And now Holmes will link up with the rest of the City squad in time for the start of pre-season training, which begins at the end of June.
Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale said: “I’m delighted that Lee has chosen to stay with Exeter City. He is a very talented footballer and he ingratiated himself into our dressing room very quickly during his loan spell here.
“We saw plenty of evidence of his ability during his short time with us, so the prospect of working with him in pre-season and over the next year is extremely exciting.”
