Ladies suffer back-to-back defeats against Larkhall
AFTER A 6-1 Cup defeat to Larkhall at the weekend, Exeter City Ladies went down 2-0 to the same opposition at home on Tuesday night. While the City players did shore up their defence in comparison to the previous weekend, the chances they created were not finished off with enough composure to test the Larkhall keeper.
They went in goalless at half-time, with manager Clem Bennelick challenging his players to match their opponents player for player in order to stand a chance of getting something from the game.
The injured Dani Barr was replaced by Chloe Williams at half-time, but Larkhall would score with a header from a corner twenty minutes into the second period.
City kept battling, but their only real opportunity to level was when Kirsty Caunter was sent through before shooting over the bar with only the keeper to beat.
Larkhall scored their second in the eighty-eighth minute to seal a second win over the Grecians in a few days.
