Leading regional airline proud to support Exeter City
LIVERPOOL here we come! Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has pulled out all the stops to support Exeter City Football Club as the team makes plans to travel to Liverpool on Wednesday 20th January 2016 for their FA Cup replay match against the Reds. The airline has been the Grecians’ shirt sponsor since 2002 in what is one of the longest-established corporate sponsorships in the Football League.
Following last Friday’s match at St James Park in Exeter that ended in the much-applauded 2-2 draw, Flybe has worked quickly to ensure that the team and its supporters will be able to travel to Liverpool ’faster than road or rail’.
Firstly, having overcome all the logistical challenges and made the necessary operational changes, Flybe has been able to re-position one of its aircraft to make the convenient ‘day return’ charter flight direct from Exeter to Liverpool. This will enable the team to travel quickly in comfort without the need to travel 4-5 hours by coach immediately prior to taking to the pitch for this important fixture – and to return home again after the match.
And for supporters wanting to make their journey to Liverpool as quickly as possible and avoid the longer road or rail options for the 374-mile round trip, Flybe is offering a special limited time £97.99 return fare on its regular Manchester service to and from Exeter on 20th and 21st January, subject to availability:

Phil Delaney, Flybe Director of Sales comments: “We are absolutely delighted to show this added support to Exeter City for this very exciting match. Ideally we would have loved to have put on more flights but, logistically, it is a complex issue to add in an extra flight after a schedule has been planned, and it is not often possible – especially at such short notice. We wish the team every success and look forward to them flying home with us following another superb match – and of course, hopefully triumphant!”
Julian Tagg, Exeter City Chairman, expressed his delight that, as a result of Flybe’s actions, the team will now be flying direct from Exeter to Liverpool on Wednesday. “We are so grateful that Flybe continues to show our community club such valuable support. They have stayed with us through thick and thin and this is yet another example of their commitment and investment to our long standing partnership.”
