The first ever book written about the emotional rollercoaster which is supporting Exeter City FC is published next week.

'Gus Honeybun, Your Boys Took One Hell Of A Beating' charts author Simon Carter's life following the Grecians, a journey which began in the late 1970s.



The 384-page book is published on Friday, April 1 by sports book specialists Pitch Publishing and retails at £12.99. Exeter City FC are hosting a special book launch at SJP at 7pm that evening. Three stars of Exeter's run to the 1981 FA Cup quarter finals - Peter Hatch, Lee Roberts and Dave Pullar - have said they will be attending.

Born, bred and educated in Exeter, Simon Carter was a regular contributor on the Exe Directory fanzine from 1988-1995 and from 1995-1999 worked as a sports reporter on the Exeter Express & Echo. He has been sports editor at the Southern Daily Echo newspaper in Southampton since 2002.
