Countdown to Devon derby: Gowzer bout that then!

Alan Gow puts Exeter City in front for the second time with curling effort

No. 6 Alan Gow puts Exeter City 2-1 ahead against Argyle
It is not long until Exeter City's home match with Plymouth Argyle at 1pm on Saturday, September 17. There have been plenty Devon derby moments to remember in recent years and, as we count down the days to another great game at St James Park, we are going recap 10 of the best.

The Devon derby at St James Park on October 5, 2013, looked to be heading to a 1-1 draw when the game approached the last 10 minutes of the match. The Grecians had taken the lead when Arron Davies slotted home Gow's fine pass, but Luke Young had equalised with a well-taken free-kick.

However, Jimmy Keohane then found Gow in space with a pass across the edge of the area and the former Argyle striker curled an unstoppable effort into the top corner. 'Gowzer bout that then' screamed the headline in the Western Morning News the following Monday as, although Scot Bennett, added a late goal in that match it was Gow's strike that was the pivotal moment in the game.
