Exeter City’s Junior Grecians family zone was officially opened last Wednesday by first team winger Lee Holmes.
The area – which has large TV screens, video game consoles and table football – is open to Junior Grecians, the official junior supporters club of Exeter City, from 12.30pm on Saturday matchdays and then to all families from 1.30pm.
During Tuesday night evening matches the family zone will be open from 5.30pm to Junior Grecians and 6.30pm to all families.
Speaking ahead of the opening game of the season on Saturday, Lee said: “It was a real pleasure to open the new Junior Grecians Lounge and hopefully on Saturday there will be so many Junior Grecians that will come down here and make good use of it.”
Lee who one first people to use the table football machines, but lost 10-9 to his son Freddie, praised the work of the sponsors that have made the lounge possible.
Crealy Adventure Park, Dominos, Kingfisher Print and Design, Tesco Exeter City Supporters’ Trust and The Unicorn Hotel have all contributed to the scheme.
“There are so many nice things in there for the kids to do,” said Lee. “It is great to see them just reveling in football and the environment that this great club can bring.
“I think all the sponsors deserve great credit. Scott (Walker, from CITY Community Trust) touched on it earlier but things like this couldn’t be done without their support and I think it is a privilege and an honour for us to have them as partners to bring this great space to the young people in our city.”
