Reuben: We are an honest bunch of lads who are working hard for the manager
Reuben Reid says the Exeter City players are and honest bunch of lads who have got themselves into a good position ahead of the Blackpool game on Saturday by working hard for their manager.
The Grecians play Blackpool at St James Park this weekend on the back of one defeat in the last 15 games.
Reid, who scored City’s equaliser as they drew 1-1 with Stevenage on Saturday, said: “We are an honest bunch of lads who come in and work hard for the manager; we take on board everything he says, every day. The manager, from where we were, has turned this season around. We are putting ourselves in a good position.”
City welcome Gary Bowyer's team before a trip to Crawley Town the following Tuesday. They are currently in sixth position going into the final 14 games of the campaign, but Reid says they can’t afford to look too far into the future or take any opposition lightly.
“Blackpool will be another tough game,” he said. “Any team can go anywhere in this league on any given Tuesday evening or Saturday afternoon and take points off each other. We will have another tough week's training and we will be prepped for the game.
“Tis will select the team and we just have to listen, take on board what he says and act his picture or plan and put his plan into effect on the pitch. And nine times out of 10 if we have done that we have come good.”
Reid’s thoughts were echoed by his manager Paul Tisdale, who added that they would need the whole squad to be ready: “It is going to be a hard final third to the season,” he said. “We are going to need the squad and the players on the periphery to come in and take their chance.”
