Lee Holmes injury update

Winger to have surgery on ankle injury

Exeter City’s Lee Holmes is expected to spend a lengthy spell out injured after it was confirmed he will need surgery on his ankle.

The 29-year-old winger, who had scored five goals in 16 appearances this season, was injured on Boxing Day following a collision with former City keeper Artur Krysiak at Yeovil Town.

Lee damaged his ankle ligaments and following a scan it has been confirmed that he will need an operation, which will take place tomorrow (Tuesday).

City manager Paul Tisdale said: “We wish Lee all the best in his operation. He will be a huge loss to the side and he is expected to be out for some time but we are harbouring hopes that he will be able to return to training and continue his rehab for him to be able to compete again this season.”
