City boss has led his side to three wins and a draw from December
Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale has been nominated for the League Two manager of the month award having led the Grecians to three wins and a draw from their four games in December.
The City manager, now in his 11th season at St James Park, started the month off with a 3-1 win in tough conditions at Cheltenham Town and followed it up with an impressive 2-0 win at home against an in-form Mansfield Town.
Another good defensive display saw City pick up a 0-0 draw at Yeovil Town on Boxing Day and they saw 2016 out in style winning 4-1 at Newport County – taking their goals for total to nine for the month having only conceded two.
The run also lifted the Grecians away from the bottom of the table and into play-off contention.
Tis has been nominated for the Football League manager of the month award eight times during his time at City, but has never managed to pick up the accolade.
This month he is up against three managers who have also picked up 10 points during December. They include Wycombe Wanderers Gareth Ainsworth, Colchester United’s John McGreal and Cambridge United’s Shaun Derry.
The judging panel comprises former Ipswich Town manager George Burley, Sky Sports’ EFL League expert Don Goodman; EFL marketing director Drew Barrand, League Managers’ Association director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet football trading manager Paul Lowery.
All winners will be announced on Friday, January 6, 2017.
