Forest Green Rovers – The New Lawn
Fixture Date: September 9, 2017
Capacity: 5,032
Distance from St James Park: 106 Miles
The home of the Rovers since 2006, The New Lawn is recognised as one of the most environmentally friendly stadiums in the world. Not only does it contain the globe’s first organic playing surface, much its electricity is provided by solar panels situated on top of the stands.
Away fans are normally placed in the Nympsfield Road End, which provides standing space for around 900 people. Around 250 seats are often reserved for away fans in the Main Stand, for those less inclined to stand.
Top Tip for Travelling Fans: Get your Veg on
Widely recognised as one of the friendliest and most welcoming clubs in the English Football League, Forest Green Rovers are distinguished by the fact that their match day vendors do not sell any meat products. In spite of this, they offer a range of delectable vegetarian options, each available at an entirely reasonable price!
City’s Last Visit: N/A
The Grecians have never visited The New Lawn in its present guise in the Football League. Their last visit to The New Lawn was in the Conference during the 2007/8 season where the teams played out a 1-1 draw.
