Ed James and Alfie Cunningham became the latest ECFC Academy players to receive international recognition as they were invited to attend a Wales Regional Training Camp during the Easter holidays.
Following in the footsteps of Max Smallcombe and Ethan Ampadu, both Ed and Alfie travelled to Dragon Park for the two-day training camp attended by players from across Wales and England.
Academy Operations Manager, Arran Pugh, said, “We would like to congratulate the boys for this achievement and for representing Exeter City positively whilst with the FAW. I’m sure this was a proud moment for Ed and Alfie, as well as their families.
“In recent years our club has seen Christy Pym and Matt Grimes represent England, Jamie Reid play for Northern Ireland, Jake Gosling with Gibraltar and Ethan Ampadu and Max Smallcombe play for Wales.
“As an opportunity club we are delighted that our young players have been recognised by their countries and we hope that the success of these players can inspire others to follow suit.
“We now urge Ed and Alfie to continue to develop as well-rounded young men by working hard at their football and education.”
