Match preview: City v Cheltenham Town

Exeter City will be looking to bounce back from their defeat to Lincoln City on Good Friday when they host Cheltenham Town at St James Park on Easter Monday.

City were on the wrong end of a five-goal thriller on Friday, but in a pulsating match, which saw the Grecian hit the woodwork twice, manager Paul Tisdale insisted there were lots of positives to take into Monday's game.

"We came off the pitch very disappointed but our supporters clapped us off," said Tis. "They were pleased with what they saw and that gives me more energy and confidence going into the next game. So, come on, let’s get ready for Monday.”

Meanwhile Cheltenham Town boss Gary Johnson is calling for desire and commitment from his players ahead of their trip to Exeter.

"Exeter lost their last game so they are going to need to keep going and I am sure they will be up for it,” he said.

"They have got some quality players there, but I am looking forward to it because they are a decent team and Paul Tisdale has done great.

"We have got to make sure we spoil any party they want to have on the day. We are going there professionally to pick up three points."

Despite heavy rain in the Exeter area on Easter Saturday and Sunday, the SJP pitch is holding up well and their is no inspection planned. We expect the game to be on and will inform fans, via social media and the club website, should that change.
