The first door of this year’s advent calendar brings us to a goal that we don’t have to cast our mind too far back to remember.
The sides came into the play-off semi-final second leg level after a 3-3 draw at Brunton Park. The Grecians gave themselves a two-goal lead on the night before they were pegged back by the Cumbrians who made the overall score 5-5.
With extra-time seemingly on its way, Jack Stacey worked the ball well on the right-hand side with Jake Taylor before the on-loan full-back scored his one and only goal for the Grecians as he smashed an effort with his left foot past the Carlisle keeper to send City to Wembley.
