Matt Taylor says some of the youngsters who played at Bideford on Tuesday night will be involved against Truro City on Thursday but he is planning to give all the first team players 45 minutes of football.
The Grecians travel to Treyew Road on the back of a 3-1 win against Bideford, which saw most of the club’s under-23s and some academy players feature.
It is Matt’s plan to give some of the more established first-team players a run out against the White Tigers but he added that some of the youngsters will be involved.
“Yes, the likes of Archie (Collins), Jack Sparkes and, potentially, Ben (Seymour) will be involved,” he said. “All the pros will now play 45 minutes.
“It will be half a game for them and then the following week they will be looking to play 60 minutes and then 30 minutes and then 30 and 60. So the games come thick and fast.
“We are going to keep working in training. We have had a really positive 10 days so far and the results just back that work up, they really do.
“I have not worked with the group that played at Bideford too much this season because it is such a young group at the end, but it will give them confidence.
“I keep using the word ‘experience’ but it is absolutely priceless. They play academy football and it is totally different to what they go into in terms of men’s football. So the more games we can get, the better it is for everyone.”
