Jake Taylor praised the reaction of his teammates as they battled back from a goal down to beat Swindon Town 3-1.
The Grecians trailed midway through the first half when Kaiyne Woolery scored from close range but the response from Taylor and the City players was superb. They first had a goal ruled out for a push, before Taylor smashed a shot into the roof of the net following a Jordan Tillson knockdown to equalise.
And then they went into the break a goal ahead when Pierce Sweeney scored from the spot following a foul on Dean Moxey.
“It was important to bounce back from going a goal down and I thought we did that really well,” said Jake. “It was a case keeping doing what we are doing.
“It has been well said that the conditions are never going to be easy here, but I thought we played our positions really well, dug in when we had to and went up the other end and nicked another one.
“It was a big win for us. We now go into the Easter weekend with lots of confidence.”
Speaking about his goal, Jake added: “I think Tilly did really well heading it back in and then I just managed to get my foot wrapped around it and it was nice to see it going in.
“It was a good reaction from everyone after going 1-0 down to come back into the game as quickly as we did. It shows what a good team we are.”
The win moves City up to fifth in the table and ends a good week for the club following a midweek victory over Port Vale.
“If you win a couple of games in this league everything changes,” said Jake. “If you put a little run together it is a real positive and we have eight games to go and we are in a good position, so let’s just see what happens.”
