Exeter City goalkeeper Christy Pym says the unity and support the fans have shown this week means a lot as the club head into a crucial time of the season.
The Grecians suffered a difficult loss on Saturday, against Stevenage, which ended their automatic promotion hopes.
However, with a play-off campaign just around the corner, the fans have come out in force this week to back the players and the manager offering them plenty of goodwill message and starting a hashtag campaign #GreciansAsOne on Twitter.
“It means a lot,” said Christy, who was part of the Exeter City side that got to the League Two play-off final last season.
“Obviously it is a crucial time in the season and we need everyone behind us to push us forward and hopefully get to Wembley again and got that one step further than last year.”
City face Colchester United on Saturday, in their final League Two game of the campaign. And while City have already secured their place in the play-offs Christy says there is plenty still to play for.
“Players are playing for selection,” he said. “Everyone wants to play well on Saturday to prove to the manager that they can play in the play-offs and do the job.
“We are not really looking at who we would rather have, we are just looking at doing our job and focusing on that. Whoever we get we will do our best and, hopefully, we will come out on top.”
