Exeter City drew 2-2 against Yeovil Town at Huish Park in Sky Bet League Two.
Despite going ahead through Jayden Stockley in the first half, the home side went in front through Jordan Green and Alex Fisher before Stockley headed home on 75 minutes to level things.
Matt Taylor made two changes to the side that beat Stevenage 1-0 in midweek as Lee Martin and Jordan Tillson came into the side to face the Glovers.
Despite the home side seeing more of the ball early on, it was the Grecians who would get the game’s first goal on nine minutes when Hiram Boateng got in down the right before cutting back and crossing for Stockley to head home from close range.
City could have been two goals ahead just a few minutes later when Boateng combined well with Nicky Law on the left-hand side before the ball found its way to Dean Moxey, whose right footed attempt was saved by Nathan Baxter.
It took until the 17th minute for the home side to really threaten the Grecians, and they did so through Thomas James after good initial hold-up play from Alex Fisher. The ball was then fed back to the Yeovil midfielder whose powerful effort edged just wide of Christy Pym’s goal.
Fisher then had a chance of his own on 36 minutes when the ball was headed clear by the Grecians, but the Town striker took a touch before volleying from the edge of the box just over Pym’s goal.
Jake Taylor then had a shot well blocked as he latched onto Stockley’s header before thumping an effort towards goal as the first half drew to a close with the Grecians leading.
It took the home side just three minutes to draw level in the second half when the Grecians struggled to defend a ball over the top before it was squared to Green who fired in despite Pierce Sweeney’s best efforts on the line.
It was to get worse for the Grecians on the hour mark when a Yeovil counter-attack down the right saw Olufela Olomola cut in before squaring for Fisher to slide the ball in to put the home side ahead.
Fisher then had a chance on 68 minutes when he rose well for a corner but was unable to keep his header down under pressure from Aaron Martin.
In the Grecians’ first real attack of the second half they drew level on 75 minutes when substitute Jonathan Forte did well to cross for Stockley to header home to bring City level and make the score 2-2.
Forte the went close himself when the ball broke to him in the City box, but with just Baxter to beat, the linesman flagged for offside against the striker.
The City forward then created a brilliant opening for himself on 88 minutes when he turned smartly in the area and tried to curl an effort into the far corner with his left foot but Baxter was equal to it as he saved well and the match ended a draw.
