Lee Holmes is hoping Exeter City can record back-to-back home victories as they look to cement a spot in the Sky Bet League Two play-off places.
The Grecians recorded a 2-0 win over Port Vale at St James Park last time out to stretch the gap between them and the sides chasing the play-off spots to four points. However, with six points available over the Easter weekend Lee knows the importance of getting a win on Good Friday at home to Crawley.
“I think this weekend, with the games on Friday and Monday, is going to be a crucial weekend for everyone,” said Lee. “That is whether you are fighting for the top three, whether you are fighting to get into the play-offs, whether you want to consolidate or whether you want to bring a little bit of momentum going into the play-offs.
“So, everybody is probably going to be looking at it in a different manner but everybody has got those positive feelings that they want to get out of what the weekend brings. We are no different. We want to consolidate in the play-offs and make sure that we are firmly in that position.
“This weekend will play a big part in that and especially Friday which is another home game. I feel when we are at home we play some of our best football and I am thinking that tomorrow is going to be no different.”
Lee scored in the reverse fixture at Crawley Town earlier in the season when the sides drew 1-1 and he knows that they will pose a threat having all but secured their safety with a victory over Yeovil Town last time out.
“I’m expecting a similar game,” said Lee. “I know they try to play really good football. They are in a position where they are probably safe – not mathematically but they would think that they are.
“So, it is really a free hit for them to have a real proper go at us, which is sometimes a little bit difficult when you are in that situation to know what team they are going to pick.
“So it is going to be interesting to see how they set up, but I think at this part of the season you want to concentrate on what you are doing and we are in a good space at the minute. The past few weeks, results-wise, haven’t been as good as we would have hoped for but coming off last week and a good result then, we just want to keep pushing forward.”
