Jonathan Forte says he is enjoying his new role as the focal point of the attack, ahead of Exeter City’s game with Bury tomorrow.
Jonathan has started every game for City so far in 2019 and helped the Grecians to a run of two wins and a draw from their last three matches.
In all of those fixtures Jonathan has played as the main striker with Lee Martin just off him in the No. 10 role and he admits it is a position he is enjoying.
“I don’t mind it,” he said. “The last few games it has been enjoyable because we have been doing well. At the moment I think I am doing alright but whether the manager wants to play me, I will play and I am happy.”
The last home game saw Jonathan come off to a standing ovation after helping set up the opening goal against MK Dons and put in a battling performance up front.
“It felt great,” said Jonathan, who added that home form could be key between now and the end of the campaign.
“It is coming to the business end of the season so if we can get as many points as we can at home it will stand us in good stead for the rest of the season.”
Speaking about Saturday’s opponents, Bury, Jonathan added:“They beat us last time so we are going to try and get one back on them. I don’t think it was a fair reflection on the game. I thought we battled well and we had a few chances as well and if we had put them away it would have been a different story.”
