Exeter City’s Ryan Bowman was the guest of honour at comedy and curry evening held at St James Park last week that raised nearly £4,000 for Prostate Cancer UK.
Ryan took part in a question and answer session with City’s head of commercial Mark Jenkins. Noel Brodie then entertained a packed Trust Suite room to some comedy, before the audience got to bid a number of items that were donated to cause which included a signed framed photo from Tour de France winner Geraint Thomas, a VIP tour around Thatchers cider farm and two director of the day tickets to and Exeter City match.
The event was organized by Ryan’s home kit sponsor Mi-space and was part of a bigger fundraising initiative that they have going on this year to raise £50,000 for Prostate Cancer UK this year, by getting more than 25 people from the area to take part in Football to Amsterdam.
Football to Amsterdam is an annual event, which is organised by the EFL and League Managers Association, and sees football fans from around the country join some famous faces from the game as they pedal their way from Leo Valley VeloPark in London to the Dutch capital – a distance of 145 miles.
Last year team Mi-space raised more than £14,302 towards the overall total of more than £500,000. However, this year they are back with a bigger contingent and bigger fundraising target.
