Exeter City make the trip to south Wales to take on Newport County AFC looking to continue their push towards the top of the Sky Bet League Two table.
STADIUM: RODNEY PARADE (NP19 0UU)
The home of Newport County AFC as well as Newport RFC, the stadium has an attendance of 8,700 which is slightly reduced for football matches.
Rodney Parade has been the home of Newport County AFC since 2012 after it was decided that the current home, Spytty Stadium, no longer met the club’s requirements.
In May 2012, it was agreed that the Exiles would move to Rodney Parade for the 2012/13 Season. The club extended their stay at the ground by signing a 10-year lease on the February 28, 2013.

BY ROAD
The quickest route to get to Rodney Parade from Exeter sees you follow the M5 north before joining the M49 near Bristol which will take you onto the M4. You’ll then cross over the River Severn and into Wales where you need to continue along the M4 before taking the exit for the B4596. Continue along this road before turning left onto Rodney Road and you’ll find the stadium further along that road.
BY RAIL
Newport train station is around a one-mile walk from the stadium therefore taking the train is a relatively easy option for supporters. There are two reasonable options in terms of trains from Exeter on the day, the first of which leaves from Exeter St David’s station at 11:23, and with one change at Bristol Temple Meads, will get you into Newport for 13:24 with plenty of time to get some food or drink prior to the match. However, you can also get the 12:23 train from Exeter St David’s and travel the same route, but that will get you into Newport around 14:30 (half an hour before kick-off.)
PARKING
There are several public car parks in the city centre within a short walking distance of Rodney Parade. There is also plenty of parking on the streets near the stadium but please be aware of local parking restrictions.

It’s just over the bridge from Rodney Parade and has great places to eat such as Bistro Pierre, Zizzi’s among others. It’s also home to many retail outlets as well as coffee shops.
