First off the block in 2019 for the BIG Foundation monthly prize of £1,000 was long time City stalwart Martin Young, seen in the picture above with operations manager Andy Gillard at City's home match against Morecambe.
Martin’s win was timely as he is taking his family along the south coast this summer, to Chichester where he used to live, so the money will come in useful for that holiday.
In terms of City, Martin has supported the Grecians for most of his life, his first match being at home to Reading back in the early 1970’s, even if City suffered a 0-1 reverse that day.
His best match memory is that famous semi-final play-off victory away at Torquay United where the Grecians came back from two goals down to win 4-3, it doesn’t get better than that, according to Martin!
Martin's favourite player of the current crop is Jordan Tillson, who he describes as: “a good clubman and in my opinion underrated. His favourite player of all time is the old Grecian’s keeper Bob Wilson, who Martin had the pleasure of meeting once in hospitality here at SJP. He is a real gentleman.
The Exeter City Foundation is a great deal, particularly for those who are regular supporters of the club. For just £10 per month, members are entitled to a range of prizes and, if a season ticket holder, the additional benefit of cash back or a voucher for the ECFC Shop.
The City Foundation draw runs throughout the year, and overall there are sixty-seven prizes – of which sixty-four are cash prizes – all of which means that members have a GREAT chance of winning, all winners are Exeter City supporters and net proceeds go to good causes at the club.
