The following message from club chairman Julian Tagg and Supporters' Trust chairman Nick Hawker is an invitation to all our volunteers to come and join us for a thank you evening at the Centre Spot bar at St James Park on Thursday, June 6.
As we celebrate National Volunteer Week (June 1 to 7, 2019) what better time to say a massive thank you to the army of volunteers who work so hard for all parts of Exeter City Football Club.
It is estimated that nearly 200 people have volunteered for the club and Supporters' Trust last season. It is estimated around 25,000 hours have been freely given with an estimated value of £250,000.
These are quite simply stunning figures and we are so grateful for everything our volunteers do. It speaks volumes for the kind of club we are and a true reflection of our supporter ownership and involvement.
Our ambassadors have now provided Exeter City with our unique selling point and set the stall for our reputation as a friendly club. Others have played their part on match days or during the week on minor but essential works.
From serving the players lunches at the training ground to clearing litter after games and from selling tickets for big games to painting and decorating our facilities and so much more besides our volunteers make a real difference.
As a sincere thank you to each and every one of you who volunteer for Exeter City we would like to invite you to a special thank you evening.
Refreshments will be available from 6pm and you will be able to stay over for the European Nations League semi-final between England and Holland.
Please remember you are part of what makes us special. If you would like to volunteer to help next season, please come along also and find out about the excellent work our volunteers do.
Julian Tagg and Nick Hawker
If you are a volunteer at St James Park and would like to attend the evening, can you RSVP to customerservices@exetercityfc.co.uk by 5pm on May 31, so we can have a rough idea of numbers. Thank you.
