đź“ť Match preview: West Ham United under-21s

Exeter City will be looking to confirm their qualification for the next stage of the Leasing.com Trophy as they face West Ham United under-21s on Wednesday night in a 7pm kick-off.

The Grecians need a point to guarantee qualification but dependent on the result in the match between Cheltenham Town and Newport County could find themselves already through ahead of the match.

City have been in fine form in the competition so far, beating Cheltenham Town at SJP 1-0 and Newport County 2-0 at Rodney Parade and all is set for another great clash under the lights.

Ahead of the match Matt Jay said that the team is looking forward to the challenge. He said: "It's a competition that we have done well in so far, so we will be looking to get another three points. We are all looking forward to it like we do every other game."

City faced West Ham United under-21s in the compeition last year and would come out on top 2-0 thanks to a double from Jonathan Forte.

The IP Office and the Thatchers’ Big Bank will only be open for this fixture with turnstiles opening at 6pm.

Please note that the Jungle Path is closed for entry to the Big Bank, so all access is via the Stadium Way turnstiles.

There will be a reduced size of The Grecian for our Leasing.com matches. In a 16-page programme, we cast an eye of over last season’s campaign as well as the current City squad members who have made their debuts in the competition. We also profile all three of our opponents in our group matches.

Team sheets, signed by a player will be available for a donation, which goes directly to the academy to support our future stars.

MATCH COVERAGE

BBC Radio Devon will not be covering the fixture but the club will be providing its own commentary. The match can be streamed through the club’s Ifollow service. Click here to find out more.
