Exeter City Community Trust's next B2B networking event takes place on Thursday, September 19 between 2pm and 4pm in The Heritage Lounge at St James Park.
The event, sponsored by Cartridges Law, will feature Gill Hayes talking about depression and suicide: why we need to talk.
In 2017, Gill shared the story of her suicide attempt at TEDxExeter in an attempt to spread hope to others with depression and to challenge some of the beliefs around mental illness. The overwhelming response to her talk made her realise that in sharing her experience, she could really make a difference to peopleβs lives, shining a spotlight on an often taboo subject.
Gill will talk about her story, a few facts and figures on the scale of the problem and then what we can do about it, specifically how to look after our mental health and how to spot early warning signs both in ourselves and others. Action to Prevent Suicide will also be presenting on the work they do training suicide first aiders.
Our sponsors, Cartridges Law will also be on hand to talk you through any legal and HR issues around mental health in the workplace.
Gill's TEDxExeter talk was incredible and we are delighted that she has agreed to be our guest speaker for September - Spaces are limited, so book now to guarantee your space.
Tickets for the event cost just Β£15 which includes tea, coffee and cake.
