Exeter City manager Matt Taylor has been nominated for the Sky Bet League Two manager of the month award for August.
An unbeaten month has seen the Grecians top of EFL Sky Bet League Two, picking up four wins and two draws. The month saw City pick up late wins on the road against Stevenage and Morecambe.
Matt is up against David Artell, Mike Flynn and Michael Jolley and the winner will be announced on Friday 13 September.
The full nominations:
David Artell (Crewe Alexandra)
As a former Crewe player, Artell understands the need for patience at Gresty Road. Last season’s progress of his young side has been built upon with the help of key experienced signings to begin with 12 points from six games.
Mike Flynn (Newport County)
What Play-Off final hangover? Normal football logic doesn’t apply to Flynn. What doesn’t change is the stingy Newport defence he has built, which kept five clean sheets in six unbeaten games as his team garnered 12 points.
Michael Jolley (Grimsby Town)
The summer recruitment of strikers James Hanson and Matt Green has given his side a cutting edge that was absent last season. With 13 goals, his side were League Two’s leading scorers in August, collecting 11 points.
Matt Taylor (Exeter City)
Three times in August his side plundered a winning goal in the final five minutes of a match. That turned an average start into an outstanding one with 14 points from six games. Has his players fit and hungry to mount a promotion challenge.
