Nicky Law says the incentive to go top of the Sky Bet League Two table on Saturday with victory over Swindon Town is a massive for him and the players.
The Grecians currently sit second in the table, two points behind leaders Swindon as they head to the County Ground.
“There is obviously no bigger incentive to us than knowing that if you win the game then you go top of the league, which is a reward for everything we have done so far,” said Nicky. “We have put ourselves in this position. It is important that we put a positive response in first and foremost from the disappointing second half against Port Vale in the week.
“They’ll be motivated and they’ll be excited as well, but so will we. It is going to be a good game. I think we have taken a great following ourselves and I am sure they’ll be a good home crowd. Everything is obviously set up for a great game and, hopefully, we will come out on top of it.”
Nicky also added that he was looking forward to playing at the County Ground as it is renowned for being a good playing surface.
“You usually get a nice pitch at Swindon,” he said. “They’ll want that as well because they are a really good side. They pass and move the ball well and they have got some quick, dangerous players.
"So, we know all about them and we will be looking to get our dangerous players on the ball as well and hopefully we can hurt them more than they hurt us. We will fully respect what a good side they are. They are the best team of the season so far. They are top of the table at the moment and it is our job to go there and take that mantle off them and show that we are the best team in the league.
“It is a huge game and we are looking forward to it. All the boys are looking forward to it. We are excited and hopefully we will get the result that we want.”
