Ryan Bowman says the players are confident ahead of the Sky Bet League Two play-off final on Monday against Northampton Town.
“We are all looking forward to it,” said Ryan. “Me, personally, I have never played at Wembley. I have been in the squad a couple of times with previous clubs but never managed to get on the pitch, so I just can’t wait for it.
“We are confident. We have played them (Northampton) twice already this season. They have beaten us, and we have beaten them, but form goes out of the window with games like this. It is whoever wants it most and whoever performs the best on the day, and we will go into the game as best we possibly can and give it everything.”
Ryan who has hit 15 goals this season says some of the confidence he has comes from the manager Matt Taylor and also from having good players like Randell Williams playing alongside him.
Randell has the most assists in Sky Bet League Two this season and many of those assists have been for goals Ryan has scored.
“Yes, he tells me enough times how many assists he gives me to be honest, but in all seriousness, he is a quality player,” said Randell.
“He is young, he is hungry and when he knocks the ball and runs there is not many players in this league, or the league above, who can catch him. So, with someone like that in your team, alongside you, delivering balls for you, it just brings confidence throughout the whole team.”
Speaking about manager Matt Taylor, Ryan added: “Me and him chat quite a lot, off the training field. If you have got an issue, on or off the field, you can always go to him. He will put his arm around your shoulder and have a good chat but it helps massively to have someone like that because you could have a manager where you have got problems and you go to him and he doesn’t really help and doesn’t put confidence in you. However, that is exactly what Matt does do and that helps you massively.”
