Exeter City winger Randell Williams says that every game until the rest of the season is vital as the team vie for an automatic promotion place in Sky Bet League Two.
Following back-to-back 1-1 home draws against Crawley Town and Crewe Alexandria respectively, Randell spoke of the importance of returning to winning ways.
“It is important throughout the season to win every single game,” said Randell. “We need to do our best to win as many games as possible, we’ve got ten left, 30 points to play for.
“So there’s nothing to worry about, we’re still in a good position and we’ve just got to go and win on Saturday.”
Nonetheless, the Grecians have only lost one of the last six, and so the City winger reiterated that the team are confident going into Saturday’s game at Walsall.
He said: “The last two games I thought we deserved three points, but nothing is given to you in this league, you have to go out and get it. I thought we were the better side against both Crawley and Crewe but it is what it is, one point a piece isn’t that bad of an option.”
In terms of the return fixture, Walsall gave an initial fright at St. James Park before City eventually fought back for a 3-3 draw. Randell echoed that City need to start strong in all the following games.
“The start to every game is important,” said the winger. “We need to come out strong. We have a very strong squad here so we’ve got no problems in how we will approach that game. Every single game is going to be a tough test for us. Ten games left, these last few months are immense coming up. We can just go out and continue what we do.”
“We want to achieve automatic promotion. We know what we want - the players and the staff - and that’s what we’ve got to play for.”
