🎅 Take part in the 2020 Virtual Santa Run

Every year, we love to see hundreds of Santas pounding the pavements of the city centre, but, given the ongoing uncertainty concerning organised events leading up to Christmas, this year CITY Community Trust have decided to offer a new, exciting and innovative virtual event.

Join CCT this December from just £3 per child and £5 per adult as we walk, jog, run, skip, scooter, and row our way into the festive season.

There are lots of things we can’t do this Christmas but we won’t let that stop us – he Virtual Santa Run is open to everyone, no matter your age or ability. It’s perfect for both seasoned runners and those new to running who are looking for an event to keep them motivated this winter. Whether you’re a Santa Run regular or it’s your first time joining us, we know you’ll love our Virtual Santa Run!

It's suggested that your activity takes place over our usual distances of either our 2.5km family fun or the 5km adult distance but this year we don’t mind how you achieve this!

We’re excited to see people run, jog, walk, swim, cycle, paddleboard – you can complete your distance by any means as long as you’re getting active and spreading some Christmas cheer. You could use it as an excuse to liven up your active commute to work or school, as a challenge to set for your sports team, or take part to raise money for your chosen charity.

The event takes place from November 30 to December 6 and we’re keen to see as many individuals, families, schools, colleagues, sports clubs, and community groups get involved this year to help us spread some Christmas cheer!

Make sure to send us photos of you taking place in the event – all finishers will be rewarded with a fantastic Santa Run medals.

Christmas fancy dress is strongly encouraged to help put the ‘Ho Ho Ho’ back into Christmas this year, so entry includes a hat, medal and race number with the additional option to purchase a full suit or dress for adults or suits for children. Make sure to enter before 25 November to be guaranteed to get your goodies in time for the big event!

For the first time this year, CCT are excited to offer a limited number of free places to those who wish to take part to raise money for us. As a charity, we rely on donations and fundraising to help us fund our vital community programmes, so we’d love to have you take part in this event for us. If you’re interested in one of our charity places, contact Stacey, our Business Development Manager, at stacey.hedge@ecfc.co.uk.

We expect there may need to be some changes to our usual event day experience in order to provide all runners, staff, and volunteers with a safe and enjoyable experience. Please see our FAQ page for further information on how this may affect the event during 2021.
