📝 Match Preview: Bristol Rovers (H)

Exeter City have the opportunity to pick up their first win of the season when they take on Bristol Rovers in a West Country derby on Saturday.

Following Tuesday night's long trip to Barrow which ended in a 0-0 draw, the Grecians are back on home turf in front of what is expected to be a packed Park. Over 1,000 Rovers supporters are also due to attend.

The Gas picked up their first victory of the campaign on Tuesday night, winning 1-0 against Oldham Athletic at the Memorial Stadium.

City expect to have Sam Nombe back in the fold following the completion of hs Covid isolation period, while Alex Hartridge returned in midweek after also suffering with the virus. The game still comes too soon for the return of Archie Collins and Josh Coley to the squad.

Matt Taylor's Thoughts

"I've watched back their game from Tuesday and they were impressive," he said ahead of the game.

"It's a lot closer to what their manager wants from them in terms of personnel and playing style.

"We've all been a little bit disjinted early on with the transfer window and Covid, but Rovers are a strong team. However we can't overfocus on the opposition. We're at home so we want to dictate the play and dictate the game."
