We are delighted to announce the signing of Colin Daniel on a one year deal.
33-year-old Daniel is a versatile player who can play as a full back, wing back, winger or forward and brings with him to the club a wealth of Football League experience following a 17-year-career to date.
He last featured for Burton Albion in 2020/21 as part of the side that survived relegation from League One following the takeover of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink as manager, with a notable moment in his Brewers career being a first minute goal against Premier League outfit Aston Villa in a Carabao Cup tie.
Daniel began his career with his local side Eastwood Town but was snapped up by league side Crewe Alexandra in 2007 before a 2009 move to Macclesfield Town, the club where he has made the most appearances in his career - 117.
He's also featured heavily for Mansfield Town, Port Vale and Blackpool, with whom he was promoted to League One via the play-offs in 2017. 2018-19 was spent at Peterborough United before he joined Burton.
We will hear reaction for Matt Taylor on his new recruit following tonight's EFL Trophy group stage match with Chelsea under-21s.
Welcome to City, Colin!
