Matt Taylor has expressed his disappointment as the Grecians suffered their first home league defeat since March after a 2-1 loss to Northampton Town.
Despite a strong second half performance in which Padraig Amond scored a leveller, City were beaten by a late Mitch Pinnock goal, and Matt felt his side should have done better from the set piece.
"It's frustrating as we got ourselves back in the game. It's a set piece goal that we have to improve on," he said.
"It was a strong second half performance, but it's a goal out of nothing. The free kick was given and we have to defend it better. We were outgunned in the physical aspect of the game today.
"In the first half we had no joy in getting control of the ball but the second half we were in the ascendency. Their goal was one of the few moments the ball was in our 18-yard-box."
