Matt Taylor has given his views after Saturday's match against Grimsby Town was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at SJP.
Consistent heavy rainfall throughout Friday and Saturday - which is expected to continue all day - means the surface was too unsafe to play, and Taylor, despite being disappointed, agrees with the decision.
"It's not the decision anyone wanted today, but judging on the rainfall the last 24 hours and what is coming it's only going to get worse," he said.
"The ground staff are fighting a task they can't quite overcome.
"Myself and the Grimsby manager both arrived here at 9.30am and we spoke. We wanted to give it until 11am and it was only going to get worse.
"We were as open and honest in our communications with Grimsby in the last 24 hours and they are respectful of the decision that has been made."
