Exeter City AFC Limited are seeking to recruit a volunteer media assistant who is passionate about gaining valuable experience in a highly competitive industry.
Throughout the pandemic our social media channels have been integral to communicating with our supporters who have been unable to attend matches and we have grown our following throughout this time.
With over 74,000 followers on Twitter and a TikTok account that has grown from 1000 followers to 123,000 in less than a year, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to create engaging content to keep the supporters up to date with all the news around the lub. While supporters will soon be back in the stands, our output still remains as important as ever as we look to increase our attendance numbers and build our supporter base.
Working as part of our media team you will have the opportunity to work at both home and away matches, supporting our Media Officer and Marketing Manager with the coverage of our matches across our social media channels.
Candidates will need to be knowledgeable about social media channels and be willing to learn and engage with supporters, as well as being confident interacting with first team players and staff, no matter the result of the match. Having an eye for detail is crucial, and you must be able to be calm under pressure, as well as working to tight deadlines.
You will work in all areas of the media team and tasks will vary week by week. One match you might be writing the match report, the next you could be updating our social media channels, and if you’re handy with a camera then that’s a bonus as there’ll be opportunities to both film and conduct post-match interviews with the manager and a player.
A professional appearance is essential ensuring care and attention of personal presentation as you will be representing the Club in other parts of the country.
Flexibility will be required as hours will vary on whether a match is at home or away. Most matches are on a Saturday, however there are some of a Tuesday evening. Some away matches require an overnight stay, which is provided by the Club alongside a food allowance.
While this is a voluntary position, your travel expenses will be covered in line with our expenses policy.
