📝 Match Preview: Bradford City (H)

The Grecians have another opportunity to go through to the second round of the Emirates FA Cup on Tuesday night when they face Bradford City in a first round re-replay at St James Park.

Following the 1-1 draw in West Yorkshire nine days ago, City had thought they had won the replay 3-0 at St James Park, but a review took place due to the numbers of substitutes fielded on the night and the FA decided on a re-replay of the fixture.

Should the game end level, it will decided by extra time and penalties if needed and the winner will go on to face Cambridge United away on Saturday in the second round.

Pierce Sweeney's Thoughts

Pierce Sweeney believes the depth of the City squad will help them progress to the second round of the FA Cup, in Tuesday's rearranged fixture with Bradford City.

Speaking ahead of the replay, the 26-year old said:

"It's frustrating that we have to play it but it's an opportunity to go through to the next round. We've got a decent squad with lot of players chomping at the bit for game time, so we'll be putting out a strong side to win the game."

Match Tickets

The club and Supporters’ Trust worked to explore the best options for ticket sales.

Under the rules of the competition, we are required to share the profit after costs from this match with Bradford City. Costs include the facilitation of the match, such as away travel, stewarding and floodlights.

The club will incur additional overheads, such as the cost of staff, including the grounds team, media team, light and heat, and cleaning, which do not form part of this return.

Whilst we appreciate that some supporters may feel frustrated paying for another game, we hope you understand that facilitating this game costs many thousands of pounds.

The club has therefore decided that in order to align with our ethos and ownership model we have made the following commitment:

  1. The Bradford City fans that purchased a ticket for Tuesday’s match will be able to claim free entry to the game to be played on 30 November.
  2. We will donate our share of profit under competition rules to both a food bank in Exeter and Bradford.
