Exeter City defender Jordan Dyer said the Grecians are disappointed as they had more to give tonight, after suffering a narrow defeat to Wolves u23 in the Premier League Cup.
Sonny Cox had given the young Grecians the perfect start by opening the scoring after eight minutes, but Wolves fought back to take a 3-1 lead before Alfie Pond struck to get City back in the tie.
"We probably gave them a little bit too much respect for 20 minutes of the first half and we couldn't get close to them." said Jordan.
"We didn't start the second half badly and started on the front foot but to concede two poor goals was frustrating. We had a positive response to going behind and have to take the last half hour into the next game."
