A match to celebrate the life of City legend Adam Stansfield will take place on May 14.
The match, two years in the making will be played at Huish Park on Saturday, May 14 in a 2pm kick-off as a team of Yeovil Town Legends take on South West Legends. The game had been scheduled to take place in May 2020 but had to be cancelled due to restrictions around fans being allowed in Huish Park due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Stanno was a member of the Glovers FA Trophy winning side of 2002 and is a true City legend, playing 160 games for City between 2006 and 2010, scoring 39 goals. He was an integral part of the team that led City from the Football Conference to League One and was adored by the supporters for his tireless energy, eye for goal and personality of the pitch.
Stanno may have tragically passed in 2010, but to this day he remains in the hearts of all Exeter City supporters and always will. He was loved and respected by everyone that knew him. A class act on the pitch and off it.
To honour Stanno, the new grandstand at St James Park was fittingly named the 'Stagecoach Adam Stansfield Stand'. If you visit St James Park, or in the away stands when City are on the road you will always hear 'Sing a song for Stanno'.
Former Grecians Chris Weale, Arron Davies and Jon Challinor have already confirmed they will be playing and will be joined by Aaron Brown, Terry Skiverton, Lee Trundle, Gavin Williams, Scott Murray, Kevin Gall and more!

The match will also provide an opportunity to remember many people who have sadly lost their lives in recent years including Ciderspace co-founder, Martin ‘Badger’ Baker, Yeovil Town captain Lee Collins and former Yeovil Town staff members Stuart Housley, Bruce James, Maurice O’Donnell and Tony Trott.
So please head down and show you support in remembering a true legend in Stanno.
