Matt Taylor has given his reaction as a 1-1 draw at Northampton Town took the Grecians to the summit of Sky Bet League Two.
Sam Nombe's first goal since returning from injury sealed a much needed point that means - coupled with Forest Green's defeat - a win on the final day at home to Port Vale would crown City as league champions.
"I was really pleased with our first half performance - their goal was a poor goal from us but a moment of brilliance for them - and then second half we got back in the game and started to utilise the ball," Matt said.
"The substitutions made a difference in terms of how they moved, they were dynamic and up to speed with the game quite early, and then it was a case of defending our box and riding a bit of storm at the end.
"At the end it was desperation from both teams."
